ShortsTV is once again releasing short films nominated for Academy Awards in theaters.
As IndieWire can announce exclusively, the global network has announced the 19th annual Oscar Nominated Short Films theatrical release. The release, only available in theaters, will contain all the short films nominated in the categories of Best Live Action, Best Animated, and Best Documentary short. Starting February 16, the films will be available in over 700 theaters globally and in 75-plus theatrical markets including New York and Los Angeles. This is the only theatrical opportunity for audiences to watch all of the short film nominees before the 96th Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday, March 10, 2024. While some, like Wes Anderson’s “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” are available to stream on platforms like Netflix, why not catch them in theaters?
