Calling all professionals, amateurs and hobbyists: Kodak has just announced a new worldwide contest in lieu of Kodak’s 50 years of Super 8 celebration. Filmmakers will have the chance to submit a short film shot on Super 8 that can range between 15 seconds and five minutes. But don’t worry, this doesn’t mean you have to go out and find a Super 8 camera and film stock if you don’t have it at your disposal. The contest allows for previously shot footage, as long as it was originally shot on a Super 8 camera.

There is no entry fee, but you have until December 22 to submit your film. Top finalists will have their films screened at Slamdance 2016 in January. Two phases of voting will be audience based and run from December 22 to January 25, 2016 on The Audience Awards, a platform for video contests.

The winner of the competition could win up to $12,500 in prizes, which includes a Pro8mm Rhonda Super 8 camera, film stock and processing, as well as as a Kodak Pixpro SP360 Action Camera.

You can learn more details at the Kodak Super 8 Filmmaker Challenge website.
