Corey Stoll & Rashida Jones Round Out Cast For ‘Decoding Annie Parker’

After a scene-stealing performance as Ernest Hemingway in Woody Allen‘s “Midnight In Paris,” actor Corey Stoll has joined the cast of Steven Bernstein‘s indie-dramedy “Decoding Annie Parker,” with comedy stalwart and “Parks And Recreation” star Rashida Jones also boarding.

The duo will respectively play a colleague and a friend of Samantha Morton‘s titular character, a breast-cancer patient who stops at nothing to solve the mystery behind her illness despite the beliefs of the medical establishment. The film was conceived by Bernstein and Clark Peterson after they teamed on Patty Jenkins’ “Monster,” and is based on the true story of Mary Claire King, a geneticist who discovered a gene linked to breast cancer. Helen Hunt takes on the role of King in his particular film, which certainly sounds like it’ll venture into inspiring, possibly tear-jerking material.

Coincidentally, three actors who have made a name for themselves on television in Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad“), Maggie Grace (“Lost“) and Christina Hendricks (“Mad Men“) also feature, with lensing currently taking place in Los Angeles. Bernstein co-scripted the film with namesake Adam Bernstein. Media House Capital (Canada) Corp. also recently came on board to co-finance and produce alongside Ozymandias Productions. [Variety/THR]
