Young long-distance love, spanning the Atlantic and the heartache that comes with it, sounds like it has the potential for a twee indie filmmaking nightmare, but for those of us at The Playlist who have taken in the film, “Like Crazy” is an honestly observed chronicle of a relationship strained under some considerable obstacles, powered by two strong performances in Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin. The film starts rolling into theaters this weekend, but the soundtrack might be a good place to start to get you in the mood.
The bulk of it is devoted to Dustin O’Halloran‘s music for the movie, but peppered throughout is a solid smattering of songs, including Paul Simon‘s excellent “Crazy Love, Vol. II,” M83‘s widescreen “I Guess I’m Floating” and “Dead Hearts” from Canadian band Stars, as well “Impossible,” the electronic outfit featuring Jimmy Tamborello of Postal Service fame. One track notably not appearing is Ingrid Michaelson‘s cover of “Only Fools Rush In” that powered the trailer for the film. And if you do away with the physical format and pick this up digitally, you’ll get two bonus tracks by Asobi Seksu and Radio Depot.
The “Like Crazy” soundtrack is actually available right now both digitally and on CD, and you can stream it full right here. Complete tracklisting below. [via The Audio Perv]
