Stuart Murdoch planned and wrote what would ultimately become the soundtrack to his directional debut “God Help The Girl.” The film stars Emily Browning as Eve, a young woman who turns to writing music as a way to navigate through her emotional turmoils. Taking place in Glasgow’s West End, Emily comes to meet fellow musicians James (Olly Alexander) and Cassie (Hannah Murray). Together, the trio form a band.
“I wanted to make something like ‘Grease’,” Murdoch told Indiewire’s Nigel Smith recently during a one-on-one chat at the SoHo Apple store.
