Watch: Blood-Spattered Red Band Trailer For ‘The ABCs Of Death’ Horror Omnibus Contenders

As we’ve previously mentioned, “The ABCs of Death” is an intriguing little omnibus horror anthology project that Drafthouse Films and Magnet are putting together, featuring a bold mix of modern horror talent like Ben Wheatley (“The Kill List”), Ti West (“House of the Devil”), Jason Eisner (“Hobo With a Shotgun”), Nacho Vigalando (“Timecrimes”), Srdjan Spasojevic (“A Serbian Film”), and twenty others. The concept is simple, the film will feature 26 vignettes from 26 directors each dedicated to a letter describing a manner of dying, while “a linking device will open, connect and close” each short, according to the official website. However, one slot has been left open for an amateur filmmaker to get their claim to fame.

IGN has unveiled a red band trailer showcasing the filmmakers who have been submitting videos for their spot as the letter “T,” which has yielded titles like “T is for Twin,” “T is for Tatas,” and this writer’s personal favorite “T is for Toilet.” While all entries look appropriately bloody and worthy of the supposed “X” rating at the front of the trailer, it’ll be interesting to see which of these clips, of varying quality and production value, will come out on top when voting closes at midnight on October 31.

While it may be a chore to sit through some of the less prestigious directors attached to the film, with players like West and rising talents like “Amer” helmers Bruno Forzani and Helene Cattet attached, it should be a bloody treat. Also the chance of seeing a segment directed by somebody you’ve voted for is a winning idea, and it’s just nice to have a gory but well-intentioned project like this around. Voting is still open until Halloween night on the film’s site, and even just watching all the entries can produce a night of gory, spooky fun. And duh, this is NSFW.
