Another Great ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’ Poster

Lynne Ramsay is back. Nearly a decade since her last film, “Morvern Callar,” the Scottish director has delivered what is easily her best work to date, “We Need To Talk About Kevin.” It absolutely blew people away on the Croisette when it premiered in Cannes this spring and the momentum for the movie continues to build after hitting both Telluride and TIFF in recent weeks to equally strong acclaim.

The film is certainly a tough one to market though, an adaptation of Lionel Shriver‘s 2003 novel starring Tilda Swinton, John C. Reilly and Ezra Miller that tells the story of the the fractious relationship between a mother and her son who commits a horrific act that forever changes both their lives. The film hopscotches through time chronicling events both before and after the incident, and doesn’t give up any easy answers. Thus far, the one-sheets and trailers have taken a more artful approach to perhaps soften the blow of the emotionally devastating film, and this new Australian poster perfectly captures the haunting sorrow that is just one of the many textures found in the story.

Oscilloscope Laboratories will release the film in New York and Los Angeles on December 2nd with a wider release to follow in 2012. Check out the full sheet below. [IMPA]
