Apparently, It Takes Three People To Write A Script For ‘Scary Movie 5’

If the “Scary Movie” franchise will be remembered for anything, it won’t be for the jokes, but it will be for helping launch Anna Faris‘ career, the plucky actress who allowed herself to be glued to ceiling with semen all in the name of comedy. For whatever reason, these cheap, terribly unfunny movies, make a mint at the box office “Scary Movie 4” bringing in more than $170 million worldwide. It boggles the mind. So no surprise a new movie is now on the way and three people have been hired to create script. Three. We guess this kind of stupidity requires a team.

Anyway, Bloody Disgusting reveals that talents of Stephen Leff, John Aboud (“The Comebacks“) and Michael Colton are going to triple team the script for “Scary Movie 5.” What that probably means is they will rent every horror movie that came out since the last entry in 2006 (has it really been five years?) and then proceed to write the kind of jokes that wouldn’t pass muster for even the last half hour of “Saturday Night Live.” Hooray. While Faris has thankfully moved on to bigger and better things, some offers are out to actors who should know better/don’t have anything better do.

Anthony Anderson, Regina Hall and Kevin Hart who have all logged time in previous franchise entries are being sought to return, though there is no word on who will be enlisted to lead the film or direct it. Keenen Ivory Wayans and David Zucker helmed two movies each so far, so maybe one of them will break the deadlock. But apparently, this one will be moving quick as the production still aims to meet the previously announced April 20, 2012 release date which is eight months away. And they don’t have a script, or cast, or director. Good luck.
