The opportunities for ladies to see leading men take it off at the movies are few and far between, and usually relegated to dumb action flicks or in heavy period dramas with Vaseline on the lenses. But for Steven Soderbergh‘s stripper pic “Magic Mike” he’s lining up the man meat with Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey already set to star. Well ladies, you might want to undo that top button because things are getting hotter.
“White Collar” star Matt Bomer is the latest bit of testosterone to come on board. Penned by Reid Carolin, the film will tell the story about an experienced stripper (Tatum) who teaches a younger dancer (Pettyfer) how to hustle his wares on stage and off at the exotic club Xquisite, run by Dallas (McConaughey). Bomer will play a member of the troupe of strippers, and we presume that means thrusting his man thing in somebody’s face or pouring champagne down his chest or something. Too bad it ain’t in 3D, right girls?
But seriously, it’s another strong addition to the cast, for the low-budget film that is shaping up quite nicely. For Bomer, it’s a smart move as he continues to slowly add to his movie resume (he has a small part in Andrew Niccol‘s “In Time” this fall). Filming on “Magic Mike” kicks off next month. [THR]
