First Look: Viggo Mortensen Playing Twin Brothers In Ana Piterbarg’s ‘Everyone Has A Plan’

About a year ago, it was revealed that Viggo Mortensen was set to return Argentina, a country where he lived in for several years as a child, to star in the directorial debut of Ana Piterbarg, “Todos tenemos un plan” or “Everyone Has A Plan.” Little has been heard from project since then but an update today reveals the production is set to wrap imminently and a handful of stills and set photos providing us the first look at Mortensen in his dual role as twins, Agustin and Pedro.

The script, which won the Julio Alejandro Screenplay Award at the 2008 Malaga Film Festival, is described as a police caper and follows the story of a man desperate to abandon his unfulfilling existence after years of living in Buenos Aires. Following the death of his identical twin brother Pedro, Agustín sets out to begin his life anew by assuming Pedro’s identity and returning to the mysterious Tigre Delta region, a maze of islands and rivers that once served as a recreational playground for the Buenos Aires elite, but is now a refuge for Argentina’s outcasts and criminals. The story itself sounds interesting enough but the fact we barely get enough of Mortensen these days, the opportunity to see him play two characters in one film is one we’ll gladly accept.

Also featuring in the film with Mortensen are stars of “The Secret Of Their EyesSoledad Villamil and Javier Godino alongside Daniel Fanego, Carolina Román and Sofía Gala. Tornasol Films and Haddock Films are backing the film with Gerardo Herrero, Mariela Besuievsky and Vanessa Ragone (the trio behind Oscar best foreign language winner “The Secret In Their Eyes”; hence the Villamil-Godino reteaming) producing. Fox International have already picked up the rights to the film in Spain and Argentina, though, nothing has been unveiled just yet for the rest of the world. [Facebook/ViggoWorks]
