Get out the eyeliner and put on your favorite The Cure record (or something) because a few new pictures from grim, gothic, Feel Bad Movie Of Christmas, “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” have arrived.
Empire has unveiled the new pics which if anything, confirm the film won’t exactly be a big ball of fun. “We want to find a place where you can talk about something and be really, really hard-hitting — like the material it’s based on — and yet we also want to make it a moviegoing experience,” director David Fincher told the magazine, describing the themes of the movie as touching up on “the cultural legacy of denial.” If Sony is banking on the popularity of the book plus some smart counterprogramming, they will certainly have little competition this holiday season for serious, R-rated adult fare. The task at hand will be getting audiences out, but we’re sure we’ve barely seen the beginning of the marketing campaign.
