Riley Keough Apparently Beats Out Lindsay Lohan For Role In Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Magic Mike’

Another day, another bit of casting is revealed for Steven Soderbergh‘s male stripper pic “Magic Mike,” but this one comes with a twist.

Ted Casablanca over at E! — who has been getting all hot and bothered over the possibility of full-frontal in the film — reveals today that actress/model Riley Keough has landed a small role in the film and apparently beat out Lindsay Lohan for the part. According to his sources she was “thisclose” to landing the gig. Of course, LiLo’s people are really great at talking to the press (remember those “Man Of Steel” rumors?) so we’re skeptical as to how much of a reality it was that she would be cast in the film. However, we do it believe that Soderbergh wouldn’t want to deal with her baggage, particularly on a low-budget film that won’t have time or money to waste.

Starring Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello, and penned by Reid Carolin, the film will tell the story about an experienced stripper (Tatum) who teaches a younger dancer (Pettyfer) how to hustle his wares on stage and off at the exotic club Xquisite, run by Dallas (McConaughey). Keough — who had her first screen role in “The Runaways” last year and has “Jack & Diane” coming up — will play Pettyfer’s troubled girlfriend.

Anyway, as the cast hit the gym, E! spills that one of the choice scenes will have McConaughey’s Dallas instructing his dancers, “I want you to go back and f—k that mirror like you mean it!” We can’t wait.
