Update: Yahoo has unveiled three clips from the movie. Check ’em out below.
The words “best movie of the year” are thrown around a lot but it seems to be a pretty common phrase being tossed around when it comes to “Drive.” Roaring out of Cannes with fantastic reviews and a Best Director prize for Nicolas Winding Refn, the film has been doing victory laps at a few festivals since, and when our U.K. writer caught up with it at Empire Big Screen, he emphatically stated it was a reminder of “why we love the movies.” This writer has yet to catch up with the film, so this new trailer is a nice way to keep that excitement going. But be warned — if you want to go in fresh, among some of the snatches of new footage, there is a character here who gets shot, so if you don’t want to know, you might want to move on.
As you already know, the film stars Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway-driver-for-hire and gets mixed up in some nasty business. This new trailer features much of what we’ve seen before, with some new peeks and glances woven throughout and closes with a montage set to what can be argued is the “hit single” from the movie, Kavinsky‘s “Night Call.” It’s another sleek and cool trailer for the film that continues to look pretty damn badass.
Co-starring Carey Mulligan, Ron Perlman, Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks, Christina Hendricks and Oscar Issac, the film hits TIFF next month and opens on September 16th. Get behind the wheel below. [via ComingSoon]
