Watch: New Trailer For Roland Emmerich’s ‘Anonymous’ Says “We’ve All Been Played”

That’s True In More Ways Than One

So Roland Emmerich has made a movie that isn’t about something getting destroyed hundreds of different ways? But while “Anonymous” is about Shakespeare, don’t worry, Emmerich has still found a way to make sure the story includes cannons.

A new trailer has dropped for the conspiracy film and it expands on what we saw in the teaser trailer back in the spring, sexing up the conspiracy theory that *gasp* Shakespeare didn’t write all his own plays and in reality, it was Edward De Vere, Earl of Oxford. Despite the pretty decent cast — Edward Hogg, David Thewlis, Vanessa Redgrave, Rhys Ifans, Joely Richardson, Rafe Spall — this still looks pretty dumb. “We’ve All Been Played” says the tagline…insert your own joke here.

“Anonymous” will make its world premiere at TIFF for some reason and then open in theaters on October 28th. Check it out below. [via HeyUGuys]
