Watch: ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’ Gets Another Terrific Trailer

What is there really left to say that we haven’t already said about “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy“? Featuring a fantastic cast, with “Let The Right One In” director Tomas Alfredson making his English language debut, each successive look at the film keeps getting better and better, and this newest trailer pretty much puts it over the top for us.

With the film set to premiere in Venice in a couple of weeks, before opening in the U.K. in September, this new preview opens things up a little more, ratchets up the tension and while rightfully keeping the mystery intact. But good lord man, talk about a character actor wet dream. The film is led by Gary Oldman — who is looking more and more like an Oscar nominee by the minute — who plays George Smiley, an MI6 agent who is pulled out of retirement to find a mole who has reached the upper ranks of the spy organization in the midst of the Cold War. A ridiculously awesome supporting cast is packed with Tom Hardy, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ciaran Hinds, Mark Strong, Svetlana Khodchenko, Toby Jones, John Hurt, Stephen Graham and Kathy Burke and lending their talents to the proceedings. This trailer gives us much more face time with Hardy’s Ricki Tarr, the man who more or less sets the who plot into motion and for those expecting Bane or Bronson, they will definitely be surprised by the much more low key turn he has here (remember, the dude has some solid drama training on his CV).

So yes, this looks phenomenal, a spy classic in the making and it can’t get here soon enough. “Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy” plays Venice at the end of month, hits U.K. theaters on September 16th and lands on our shores on November 18th. Watch below.
