Yesterday’s first look at Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in one of the most eagerly anticipated films of next year (by those who’ve read the book anyway) wasn’t enough for you? Well good news: EW’s issue with Lawrence on the cover hits newsstands imminently, and The Film Stage have acquired some scans of more images of Lawrence in costume, which are marginally more action packed. Well, one is, showing the young star wielding a bow like she was heading for the gold medal in 2012.
Lawrence might look every inch the action hero, but don’t expect quips and steely determination: another excerpt from the interview reveals that the “Winter’s Bone” Oscar nominee certainly won’t be playing Katniss that way, as she reveals her one condition to director Gary Ross (“Seabiscuit“) on taking the role: “I told Gary, ‘I totally understand if you don’t hire me, but please remember that after Katniss shoots a bow and kills someone, her face cannot be badass. It has to be broken.” Check the full-sized images out after the jump. “The Hunger Games” hasn’t even started shooting yet, but it’s still heading to theaters on March 23rd 2012. We expect much more from the film round about Comic-Con time, where we’re sure it’ll be a major presence.
