Exclusive: Rob Brydon Gives Steve Coogan Some Wine Tips In 2 Deleted Scenes From ‘The Trip’

Simply put, “The Trip” is one of the best (and one of our favorite) movies so far this year. Not only that, the film is already poised to become director Michael Winterbottom‘s highest grossing indie film after this weekend, and it’s no surprise why.

Starring Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon, riffing on their actual personas, the largely improvised film finds the duo touring some very posh eateries in Northern England and chatting about their careers, aspirations and most hilariously, other actors in the industry (the countless impressions are pure gold). While the concept is quite simple, the film has an unexpected heart, and though paper thin narratively, it’s completely hilarious, and more to the point, very enjoyable. You won’t find two people to spend time with this year that are more fun than Coogan and Brydon. If you haven’t seen the film, here’s a taste of two deleted scenes from the movie — in which Brydon educates Coogan on how to appreciate wine — that gives you a perfect idea of the breezy, chummy tone of “The Trip.” If you have already seen the flick, well, here’s a bit of dessert for you then.

“The Trip” is currently showing at a theater near you but if you can’t leave the house, you can also order this one up On Demand. Check out the two deleted scenes below.
