After expressing during “The Tourist” press rounds, that he’d be game to make a quick appearance in the upcoming “21 Jump Street,” it looks like someone finally got Johnny Depp on the phone.
ComingSoon is reporting that the rumors earlier this month have indeed finally come through and Depp will be making a cameo in some capacity in what is expected to be a day’s worth of work on the film.
A remake of the ’80s show that made Depp a star, “21 Jump Street” stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as two cops pulled aside to work undercover in high schools. The R-rated adaptation features a script by ‘Scott Pilgrim’ writer Michael Bacall and has “Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs” helmers Chris Miller and Phil Lord directing. Joining Hill and Tatum in the film are Ice Cube, Brie Larson, Dave Franco and Jake Johnson. Filming kicked off today and Jonah Hill tweeted a picture of the police logo from the film that you can check it out below. The film hits theaters on March 16th, 2012.
