Nathan Lane Will Serve Queen Julia Roberts In Tarsem Singh’s Snow White; Robert Emms Also Joins

While the rival Universal project “Snow White and the Huntsman” is still looking for a male lead, Relativity and Tarsem Singh continue to pad out the cast for their film which will hit theaters first.

The studio has announced that Nathan Lane is closing up a deal and Robert Emms has singed to star in the still untitled film formerly known “Brothers Grimm: Snow White.” The duo join Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer and Lily Collins in the film which doesn’t stray too much from the story we know and love, with the Evil Queen (Roberts) and her step-daughter chasing the same man (Hammer), a prince looking for someone who will love him just for him and not for his crown. Awww. Lane will play the Queen’s terrified servant, while Emms — currently in the arthouse hit “The Arbor” and with “Anonymous” and Steven Spielberg‘s “War Horse” on the way — will play the prince’s man-in-waiting.

The film is described as a “spirited adventure comedy,” and it will start lensing in June and hit theaters a year later on June 29, 2012.
