“The Daily Show” correspondent and all-round geek favorite Olivia Munn will star along side Paul Schneider in comedy troupe Broken Lizard‘s newest film, the indie-comedy “The Babymakers.”
It’s an interesting step taken by Munn, with the actress having gone from “Attack Of The Show” to Jon Stewart‘s award-winning late-night show to Aaron Sorkin‘s upcoming television series about a cable news program. And now… this? At least, she’ll be starring opposite the underrated Schneider whose roles in projects such as “All The Real Girls,” ‘Assassination Of Jesse James,’ “Bright Star” and NBC comedy “Park And Recreation” haven’t gotten him far enough or bigger, juicier parts he deserves.
Munn, though, has featured in Broken Lizard productions before (“The Slammin’ Salmon,” the upcoming “Freeloaders“) with this latest collaboration to be helmed by “Super Troopers” director Jay Chandrasekhar. Story will follow that of “a married couple who can’t conceive, prompting the husband to enlist his friends’ help to rob a sperm bank where he made a deposit as a young man.” Genius.
Peter Gaulke and Gerry Swallow (“Ice Age: The Meltdown“) scripted the tale with troupe stalwarts Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske all co-starring. [Variety]
