Rosario Dawson Joins Danny Boyle’s ‘Trance’; Vincent Cassel Confirmed

With James McAvoy already on board Danny Boyle‘s next film, the thriller “Trance,” the two names alone would basically attract any willing and able actor in Hollywood for a part. Indeed, Michael Fassbender was initially attached before dropping out due to scheduling issues, and Colin Firth‘s name was wishlisted for the co-starring role. And just a couple of weeks ago, it was revealed that Vincent Cassel was in the running for the juicy role. Well, he’s nabbed it and one more actress in coming along as well.

Deadline confirms Cassel and reports that Rosario Dawson has also joined the upcoming art-heist thriller that is assembling a killer cast. “Trance” will tell the story of an assistant at an auction house (McAvoy) who masterminds a heist and teams up with a gang of thieves lead by Cassel only to suffer a blow to the head and wake up with amnesia. As the only person who knew the location of the stolen painting, the assistant is then subjected to analysis from a hypnotist as the gang begin to suspect duplicity. Dawson will play a character who has a relationship with both men.

But fans of Boyle will have a long wait ahead of them. The plan is for the director to start filming in September, and then the rushes will be put on ice as the director focuses on his London Olympics duties. Then in August 2012 he will go back to the film and start editing for a release in early 2013.
