‘Rushmore’ Reunion? Olivia Williams Frontrunner To Play Bill Murray’s Wife In ‘Hyde Park On Hudson’

What else can we say about the lovely and talented Olivia Williams except that she’s consistently great in pretty much anything she’s in. Most American audiences became familiar with her she when she starred in Wes Anderson’s sophomore effort “Rushmore” and it looks like a reunion of sorts with another cast member is in the works.

Deadline reports that Williams is the frontrunner to join Bill Murray in “Hyde Park On Hudson.” Written by Richard Nelson—who adapted his own 2009 radio play—the story focuses on a rather curious moment in FDR’s life. The movie is set over a weekend in 1939 when Brit royalty visits his upstate New York home for the weekend, and will shed light on his affair with his cousin Margaret Stuckley. Murray is already ready to roll in the lead part of FDR, and if she lands it, Williams will play his wife Eleanor. As was reported last month Laura Linney is in talks to play Margaret in the project, while British actors Samuel West and Olivia Colman are stepping into the shoes of King George and Queen Elizabeth.

The film will shoot later this month in upstate New York with Roger Michell (”Morning Glory,” “Notting Hill”) directing, which will be easy enough for Murray because he’s there already filming Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom.” Maybe all three can get together for lunch.
