Watch: David Tennant Teaches Anton Yelchin How To Kill A Vampire In New ‘Fright Night’ Clip

While most of us at the Playlist have been pleasantly surprised by what we’ve seen so far in Craig Gillespie‘s “Fright Night” remake, a small contingent still remains unimpressed, not quite charmed by Colin Farrell‘s hearty chomp into the villain role or the balance between horror and comedy Gillespie is going for. But for those who have enjoyed what they’ve seen so far, this latest clip from the film will certainly keep those expectations high.

Introduced by David Tennant (note the flowery British flag pillow in the background), this new look at the film focuses on his character, the Criss Angel-like illusionist Peter Vincent. Under the guise of being a reporter, Anthon Yelchin pays him a visit to find out just exactly how to kill a vampire because his neighbor, played by Farrell, just might be one. Tennant seems to be having a ball with the role, playing the vain quasi-celebrity to perfection and dare we say, kind of channeling a bit of old school Russell Brand in the process. Also, even his ostentatious Vegas digs are kind of hilarious.

It’s a pretty great little clip that points to a slightly sardonic tone the picture is taking that at least this writer is digging. “Fright Night” co-stars Toni Collette, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Imogen Poots and will screen at Comic-Con this weekend before opening on August 19th.
