Watch: Deeply Unnerving Full Trailer For Ben Wheatley’s ‘Kill List’

Plus Trailer For Takashi Shimizu & Christopher Doyle’s Mad-Looking ‘Rabbit Horror 3D’

One of our favorite films at SXSW this year was “Kill List.” The follow-up to Ben Wheatley‘s terrific, but woefully underseen gangster film “Down Terrace,” it’s a domestic drama, blended with a hitman thriller, mixed with a pastoral horror flick, that’s not really like anything you’ve ever seen, and its basically guaranteed to leave you shaking for hours after: without saying too much, the film left one senior member of The Playlist team physically ill. In a good way. It was picked up by IFC Midnight, who’ll release it later in the year, but a U.K. opening is more imminent, and a couple of trailers have arrived ahead of it.

Twitch premiered a minimalist teaser yesterday, and now Total Film has a full trailer, one that manages, mostly through sound design and editing, to be firmly unsettling, without giving too much away. It stars Neil Maskell, Michael Smiley, Myanna Buring and Emma Fryer, and it’ll hit U.K. theaters on September 2nd. Watch the trailers after the jump.

Also from the crazy, disturbing end of the genre spectrum is “Rabbit Horror 3D,” a collaboration between “The Grudge” director Takashi Shimizu and brilliant, barking mad DP Christopher Doyle (who co-directs). The plot seems to revolve around a child who kills a rabbit, leading a girl in a giant rabbit suit to stalk and kill various people. It looks gorier and more disturbing than that plot might suggest. Twitch has trailer: the film looks like it’ll land in Japan on September 17th, and we’re sure it’ll start to make its way around the more genre-led festivals before the year is out.
