Watch: Trailer For Star-Studded Financial Drama ‘Margin Call’ Arrives

Given that it was as significant an event in the world as any in the last century, it’s not surprising that Hollywood have finally turned their eye to the 2008 financial apocalypse; even if it’s unlikely to bring in the teens, it’s inherently dramatic subject matter, and this year has already seen Curtis Hanson‘s solid “Too Big To Fail,” and people like George Clooney potentially eyeing the subject in the near future. Next up is “Margin Call,” the starry drama that picked up solid reviews at Sundance this year.

An ensemble flick following a fictional investment firm over 24 hours as the world comes crumbling down around them, it marks the directorial debut of J.C. Chandor, and sees the first venture into producing for “Star Trek” star Zachary Quinto, who leads an impressive cast that also includes Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Demi Moore, Simon Baker and Penn Badgley. A trailer’s just debuted over at Yahoo, and it looks very solid: the cast appear to be on good form, it’s nicely lensed, and seems to do the complex subject matter justice.

We caught the film at Cannes, and it seems to live up to its promise: it might not set the world alight, but it’s a very strong drama, and more than worth catching. Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions, who picked the film up in Park City in January, are releasing it on October 21st, and you can check the trailer out below, or in HD over at Yahoo.
