Brad Garrett Rounds Out Cast For David Chase’s ‘Twylight Zones’

Not Actually Called ‘Twylight Zones’ Anymore

The final pieces have been put into place for the upcoming coming-of-age rock ‘n roll tale from “The Sopranos” creator David Chase that was formerly known as “The Twylight Zones” (it is currently untitled).

Variety reports that Brad Garrett, character actor Christopher McDonald and Molly Price (“Third Watch“) have joined the previously announced James Gandolfini, Bella Heathcote and Lisa Lampanelli in the upcoming film. The story is a coming-of-age tale about three Italian-American kids, played by John Magaro, Will Brill and Jack Huston, who form a rock band in the 1960s. Garrett will play a composer/music producer; Gandolfini will play Magaro’s disapproving father with Price as his mother and Lampanelli his aunt, while Heathcote is lined up as his love interest with McDonald as her Dad.

“He is the perfect actor for this part,” Chase said about Gandolfini, “a postwar, post-Depression era parent who has given his kid every advantage that he didn’t have growing up, but now can’t help feeling jealous of the liberated, more adventurous destiny his son is able to enjoy.” It certainly sounds right in the wheelhouse of everyone involved and we love a good rock ‘n roll story; we’re looking forward to it.

Steve Van Zandt will re-team with Chase and oversee the music in the film, that will be released by Paramount Vantage. Filming should be getting underway imminently.
