Bradley Cooper To Play ‘The Crow’?

You sure know how to fuck with us Hollywood. Just a few days after “28 Weeks Later” helmer Juan Carlos Fresnadillo came aboard to direct the long in the works reboot or whatever of “The Crow” — that looks like it will be dropping the Nick Cave script (what the hell) — an actor is now ready to get his dark eyeliner going as Eric Draven. And it’s kind of baffling.

THR reports that Bradley Cooper — you are not reading that wrong — is in talks to star in the film. He apparently went all the way to Spain to meet with the director and two hit it off and seem to be on the same page in terms of the vision of the film. In case you’re too young and never saw the emo/goth sort-of classic that is the 1994 Brandon Lee starrer, based on the comic by James O’Barr, the vengeance-fueled tale follows follows a man resurrected by a mystical crow after he and his girlfriend are murdered.

Last fall, the part was offered to Mark Wahlberg who turned it down, but it makes a lot of sense that the part will fall down the rung of the ladder a little bit and land in Cooper’s hands.

We’re all for taking bold career moves — this is certainly something we never would’ve imagined Cooper being interested in — but “The Great Gatsby” this is not. But if Cooper comes aboard, “The Crow” will take flight (ha!) this fall.
