While this summer is going to be filled with comic movies and action franchises, nothing is giving us goosebumps of anticipation more than J.J. Abrams‘ “Super 8.” The Amblin-inspired tale is having its details kept under lock and key but with a cast of mostly lesser-known thesps — Elle Fanning is the biggest name among them — the ’70s Ohio-set film will center on the strange events that occur following a train crash with a pack of kids who investigate and find out more. At least that’s what we can surmise from what we know so far. Paramount has been showing off chunks of footage to movie bloggers and industry folks in recent weeks to huge buzz, but a new television spot is here for the rest of us.
Yes, it’s only a minute long but for those of you wanting just a little bit more, this should slake your thirst. Among the brief bits of new stuff are the kids planning when to meet, a new look at the mayor warning the kids and something strange with a garbage dumpster. Hey, we did say brief, right?
“Super 8” will hit on June 10th — check out the spot below. [via Bleeding Cool]
