Everything is slowly coming together for “The Sopranos” creator David Chase‘s feature directorial debut, “The Twylight Zones.” Just last week, Chase’s old pal James Gandolfini signed on and now one more name has come aboard.
During an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show,” comedian Lisa Lampanelli revealed she has joined the cast of the film. She told Stern and co. that she will play “David Chase’s mother” which should indicate that the film, while not strictly autobiographical, is likely inspired by Chase’s own upbringing and memories. As a commenter has updated us, she’ll be playing an aunt of one of the rock trio played by John Magaro, Will Brill and Jack Huston. Bella Heathcote also stars in the film.
Steve Van Zandt will re-team with Chase and oversee the music in the film, and if previous reports are accurate, lensing on the Paramount Vantage film should begin this month. [/Film]
