Giovanni Ribisi Joins Mark Wahlberg & Mila Kunis For R-Rated Comedy ‘Ted’

Seth McFarlane has added another name to his forthcoming debut into the world of featuring filmmaking, the raunchy, R-rated and partially-animated “Ted.”

Variety reports that Giovanni Ribisi has joined Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis in the forthcoming film, an ambitiously conceived tale about a man and his relationship with a stuffed teddy that comes to life thanks to a Christmas wish he made as a young child. The bear has long been by the man’s side, but now, twenty-five years later, he’s a smoking, cursing, delinquent nightmare.

Wahlberg will play the put-upon owner of the titular bear, while McFarlane will voice the bear that will be animated via motion capture. Ribisi will take the role of Donny, a man obsessed by Ted. Kunis is in final negotiations to join the picture, but there is no mention of Adam Scott who has linked to the project late last year.

Lensing on the picture is set to begin early this year and while “Family Guy” is now a chore to sit through (and we’ve barely made it through five minutes of “The Cleveland Show“), we’re definitely curious as to what McFarlane will do with a R-rated comedy to let loose with.
