Vulture continues to dig up news on Stephen Frears‘ gambling pic “Lay the Favorite” and have now revealed two more names to the growing cast.
With Bruce Willis now committed to star in the pic, Justin Timberlake and Catherine Zeta-Jones are both apparently circling roles in the film. Based on the Beth Raymer gambling memoir, the story adapted by D.V. DeVincentis (”High Fidelity,” “Grosse Pointe Blank”) follows the rise of Internet gambling and off-shore sports betting through the story of a woman (Rebecca Hall, playing Beth) in her 30s who becomes involved with a group of fiftysomething math geeks in Queens who have worked out a way to rig the sports books in Vegas. Timberlake would join Willis as another person Beth apprentices under, playing Rosie, “a Long Island bookmaker who runs a massive off-shore sports book.” Zeta-Jones would play wife to Willis’ unfortunately named, Dink Heimowitz.
Lots of movement happening and confirmations likely to arrive soon as Frears is looking to start lensing in April.
