Katherine Heigl Replaces Halle Berry In ‘New Year’s Eve’

Another day, another “New Year’s Eve” casting update. Hooray.

Deadline reports that Halle Berry has come to her senses and dropped out of Garry Marshall‘s next cringeworthy comedy just as filming was set to begin. So who to fill in? Well, Katherine Heigl, no stranger to tepid romcoms, is set to fill the vacancy left by Berry’s departure as she’s got some free time after bailing on “Adaline” last fall. She will now play the love interest to Jon Bon Jovi, a rock star who once dumped Heigl’s character, a caterer, but runs into her at a party on New Year’s Eve. Awkward!

Heigl joins a roster that currently includes Jessica Biel, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Sienna Miller, Sofia Vergara, Seth Meyers, Til Schweiger, Josh Duhamel, Ice Cube and Ryan Seacrest. In case you care, this comes out on December 9th.
