With its screening at this year’s SXSW just around the corner, a nifty new poster has been unveiled for Spencer Susser‘s twisted grief drama “Hesher” starring the exciting trio of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rainn Wilson and Natalie Portman.
The film drew mixed to lukewarm responses from its multiple festival runs. The story centers on a grieving father and son (Wilson and newcomer Devin Brochu) who are helped on their journey by a young grocery clerk (Portman) who inadvertently becomes the object of the boy’s fantasies and the titular, mentoring/tormenting anarchist Hesher (Gordon-Levitt) — who happens to be the subject of this poster. It’s no doubt an intriguing prospect especially with the A-grade indie cast in place though — buyer beware — many so far seemed to have been taken back by the fact it’s not a straight-up comedy but rather a twisted tale with dark comic elements.
“Hesher” is set to hit theaters sometime this Spring through Wrekin Hill Entertainment. “Hesher” screens tonight at SXSW so look out for our review. Full poster after the jump. [NataliePortman]
