Hollywood is filled with secretaries, dog walkers, waiters, gardeners, shoe salesmen, mail room clerks and other low level position players all with secret scripts they’re working on or projects they’re trying to get made. And most of them never make it, only talking about making it big until it’s just embarrassing. But every now and then, someone manages a foot in the door, the right phone calls and the happenstance connections to get that something moving. And in this case, it’s Orlando Bloom‘s former assistant.
24 Frames reports that Nick Saunders is independently producing the thriller “High Wire” with stunt director Simon Crane attached to helm. Written by James Solomon (“The Conspirator,” “The Bronx Is Burning“) plot details are scarce but it’s a thriller set in New York with “a strong emotional component.” But don’t expect it any time soon.
While Crane confirmed he was attached, he also said the Jason Statham pic “Echelon,” which he boarded earlier in the year, is likely to film first. That film is based on the series of books written by Andy McNab about fictional SAS agent Nick Stone, with the plot revolving around a stolen computer program. For real.
