Peter Greenaway To Direct Offbeat Romantic Comedy ‘4 Storms And 2 Babies’

Peter Greenaway, the snooty arthouse director who declared a few years ago that “cinema is dead” is saying “fuck it” and directing a romantic comedy. Well, a romantic comedy that only Peter Greenaway could make.

Variety reports that Greenaway is set to write and direct “4 Storms and 2 Babies” that will tell the story of a woman who gets pregnant after a night of three-way sex with two men. Uh ohs! No actors are attached just yet but the plan is for the film to shoot in Amsterdam once Greenaway completes work on his next film “Goltzius and the Pelican Company,” which is currently in preproduction.

“The premise is both simple and strong: Three people with different needs and beliefs all of whom are able to help the others on a journey of self discovery,” said producer Mike Downey in a statement. It’s also about three people who get it on and make a baby with hilarious results! Anyway, it’s said to be similar to Greenaway’s “Drowning By Numbers” so if you’ve seen that, you’ll have some idea of what is in store.
