‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4’ Super Bowl Spot Shows Bad Men Hurting Cute Nubile Mermaids & More

Also, A Superbowl Spot For The Sci-Fi Romance, ‘The Adjustment Bureau’

Update: the longer version has arrived. THANK GOD! Alright, thank god this nonsense is over. That’s it for Super Bowl movie teaser trailers. The last two of the evening are Rob Marshall‘s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz and “The Adjustment Bureau” starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt.

The latter looks like an odd mix of down-to-earth sci-fi with hard-to-buy suspension of disbelief, plus a romance story, and the director George Nolfi, who penned a “Bourne 4” script that was never made, is untested, but we like Blunt and Damon a lot, so we’re willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. The former ad is so short, it feels like one massive 15-second tease for those that are actually anticipating it. Don’t feel super gipped, a longer trailer is apparently coming momentarily says producer Jerry Bruckheimer on Twitter.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides stars Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Geoffrey Rush, Ian McShane and several more of the cast that’s been seen over the years, but not Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. Arriving in 3D, naturally, it hits theaters on May 20, 2011. “The Adjustment Bureau” lands on March 4.
