Nicholas Hoult Said To Be The Frontrunner For The Role Of Jack
While Bryan Singer‘s “Jack the Giant Killer” still needs to lock down a lead actor, the filmmakers are confidently moving ahead and have slotted some major roles in the film.
THR reports that Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and John Kassir have all come aboard the project, which is a revamp of the fairly tale that centers around a war between giants and humans, set off by the kidnapping of a princess and the young farmer who journeys to the giant kingdom on a rescue mission. Tucci will play the lead villain, “an advisor to the king with designs on usurping power.” Meanwhile, Nighy and Kassir will team to play Fallon, the two-headed leader of the giants (Nighy will have the bigger head of the two).
As for that elusive lead role of the young, heroic farmer, Nicholas Hoult apparently is the frontrunner for the job that has seen Aaron Johnson and Aneurin Barnard (“Ironclad“) in the running.
Last we heard, the film, which was originally set to begin lensing last summer but was delayed as Singer got a handle on the extensive effects that will be the in film, is set to begin lensing next month.
