You can feel that sweet, homespun, wholesomeness from here. And it’s kind of nauseating.
Deadline reports that apple cheeked, Mom-approved, non-threatening singer Taylor Swift will lend her angelic pipes to the upcoming animated adaptation of “The Lorax.” Taylor joins the long-ago announced crew of Danny DeVito, Zac Efron, Ed Helms, Rob Riggle and Betty White who will bring Dr. Seuss‘ fantastic book to life and — if history is anything to go by – will probably ruin it in the process.
The film, being directed by the trio of Chris Renaud (”Despicable Me”), Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio (the latter pair also being responsible for the scripts for both this and “Horton Hears A Who”) will spin Seuss’ environmental fable to life with Efron playing a boy who befriends The Lorax (named Ted, Seuss’ real name); with White, as his grandmother; Helms as the villainous Once-ler; Riggle as O’Hare, another industrialist who tries to market cans of fresh air, and Swift as Audrey, the love interest. Of course (and yes, that’s pic of her character up top).
The 3D pic is currently in production and is tentatively slated for a March 2012 release.
