Call it “2000 Days Of Bummer,” “Light Blue Valentine” or whatever you want, but the buzz around Drake Doremus’ “Like Crazy” is undeniable.
Starring Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and (in a small role) Jennifer Lawrence, the film is an intimate chronicle of the difficulties of long-distance love. It was met with a string of positive notices out of the Sundance Film Festival and picked up the Grand Jury Prize for best film in the U.S. Dramatic Competition as well as a Special Jury Prize for acting for Felicity Jones. Not bad. The picture was picked up — somewhat surprisingly — by Paramount and while there’s still no word on a release date, some clips are online to give you a taste of what’s to come. Handheld, close up and with a lived-in documentary feel, “Like Crazy” looks set to break our hearts and we certainly can’t wait to see it.
