While he may not be a household name, you’ve definitely seen him before. Matt Walsh has certainly earned his comedy cred logging time in the “Upright Citizens Brigade,” appearing in every Todd Phillips movie to date and racking up screen time in too many televisions shows and movies to list here. But undoubtedly, he’s made plenty of connections and with a Rolodex full of funny people, he’s called in a few favors for his directorial debut, the improvised comedy “High Road.”
Featuring Walsh alongside (big deep breath) Rob Riggle, James Pumphrey, Lizzy Caplan, Abby Elliot, Joe LoTruglio, Rich Fulcher, Horatio Sanz, Dylan Obrien, Zach Woods, Matt Jones, Ed Helms and Kyle Gass, the film finds a weed dealer split between pregnant girlfriend, a gestating rock opera and his illegal job which pays the bills. Things go from bad to worse when a deal goes wrong and he’s forced to go on the run with a teenager he’s mentoring allowing for the rich cast of characters to come into play.
The film will premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 29th, but there’s no release date for the movie just yet. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.
