After premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010 to mostly pretty savage reviews, it’s been a long road for Mark Ruffalo‘s directorial debut, but with the star power involved it’s a no-brainer that somebody picked it up, though we’re not too surprised that it was the relatively downgrade shingle Maya Entertainment.
Anyway, the film now has a pretty decent trailer which actually stokes some new interest in the film for us, even if it randomly steals one of the most iconic lyrics of all time from The Rolling Stones. Written by real-life paraplegic and star of the film Christopher Thornton and starring Ruffalo, Orlando Bloom, Juliette Lewis, Noah Emmerich, John Carroll Lynch and Laura Linney with musical contributions by The Besnard Lakes, Shiny Toy Guns and Cedric Bixler-Zavala of The Mars Volta fame, the film chronicles the life of a rock star blessed with healing powers and the inevitable conflicts that arise because of it. So yeah, there are definitely more than enough ingredients here to keep us curious.
The film will open this spring April 29th. Trailer below.
