David Gordon Green is a machine (best rhyme ever). The director spent the last year putting the finishing touches on his upcoming medieval stoner comedy “Your Highness,” acting as a producer on the cult hit comedy show “Eastbound & Down” (sorry, we actually don’t understand the appeal here) and this fall, he’s been shooting yet another comedy, the very fun sounding “The Sitter.”
The film stars Jonah Hill as a college student who ends up on a wild night after agreeing to babysit the three kids next door. He’s supported by a pretty solid cast that includes Max Records (“Where The Wild Things Are“) as the eldest, neurotic kid; Kevin Hernandez and Landry Bender playing the other two kids under Hill’s care; J.B. Smoove and Sam Rockwell as two drug dealers tracking down Hill after he loses their cocaine; and Ari Graynor as the selfish girlfriend. We read the script and it’s quite funny with a comic on-the-run tone not unlike “The Pineapple Express.”
We now have our first look at Jonah Hill in the film and while it’s not the most earth-shattering set photo ever taken, it’s an early tease of what’s to come. The film is currently slotted for a July 15, 2011 release date which means 20th Century Fox have some big expectations (as do we). It will hit theaters only three months after “Your Highness” on April 8, 2011 which means that if you’re a fan of David Gordon Green comedy, you have a lot to look forward to next year.
