First Look: Tom Hardy In ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’

Sorry, ladies. For those of you hoping for some suave Eames-esque pics of English heartthrob Tom Hardy, you may want to look elsewhere. Some new set photos have arrived for the highly anticipated (at least by us) “Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy” and Hardy has gone blond (or at least is wearing a pretty convincing wig) is sporting a very period specific hairdo. No slick hair and well cut suits here.

Directed by Tomas Alfredson (“Let The Right One In“) making his English language debut, and featuring a phenomenal cast made up of Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ciaran Hinds, Mark Strong, Svetlana Khodchenko, Toby Jones, John Hurt, Stephen Graham and Kathy Burke, the film is an adaptation of adaptation of John Le Carre‘s classic spy thriller. Adapted for the screen by the talented Peter Morgan (“The Queen,” “Frost/Nixon“) the story follows a British Intelligence operative whose task is to delve into the world of Cold War espionage and root out a Soviet mole in the Circus, the highest echelon in the British Intelligence Services.

We’re definitely excited to see the visually distinctive helmer Alfredson tackle the spy genre and with a script from Peter Morgan and a one helluva cast spitting out the lines, this has all the makings of the classic. No word yet on release dates, but we fully expect it to hit theaters next year. [ComingSoon]
