Jesse Eisenberg Logs On For Indie Comedy ‘Free Samples’

So what do you do to follow up a career best and likely to be Oscar nominated performance? If your name is Jesse Eisenberg, you keep it real by joining an indie comedy.

The actor who has been earning incredible buzz for his outstanding performance in David Fincher‘s “The Social Network,” has joined “Free Samples” from director Jay Gammill, making his feature debut. Written by Jim Beggarly, the film follows “a law school drop-out who fills in as a server as a friend’s food truck, where she doles out free samples of ice cream. The job tests her patience, and while she figures out what to do with her life, she finds herself being courted by a young man (Eisenberg) whom she barely remembers from the night before.”

Eisenberg will co-star with Jason Ritter (who he worked with in “The Education Of Charlie Banks“) and Jess Weixler, with the cast rounded out mostly by smaller names including Tippi Hedren, Hallie Pfeiffer, Keir O’Donnell, Jocelyn Donahue and Matt Walsh. The film is currently in front of cameras in Los Angeles and will probably do festival rounds next year. [The Wrap]
