Even though Mel Gibson was reportedly furious about being bounced from a cameo role in Todd Phillips‘ upcoming “The Hangover 2,” it looks like Liam Neeson, who has taken over the role, won’t be on the receiving end of any phone calls with seething and heavy breathing.
Speaking to Access Hollywood during press rounds for the forthcoming “The Next Three Days,” Neeson reveals that he actually spoke to Gibson and that, “Mel’s cool about it. We’re all cool.” Apparently Neeson — and everyone around him — doesn’t use the Internet and he “didn’t realize” the part was originally Gibson’s, but he once he found out he had a “very pleasant” talk with the actor. As you might recall, Gibson and Neeson have worked together before, starring in Roger Donaldson‘s 1984 film “The Bounty.”
As for the rumor that the cameo role was that of tattoo artist, Neeson who is shooting his part at a studio in Los Angeles, says those claims aren’t true while keeping his part in the film under wraps.
Neeson isn’t the only person making a cameo in the film, as Mike Tyson is set to reprise his role as, well, himself, and we’re sure there will be more surprises in store.
