Here’s a new look at a probably terrible movie and no, that’s not Gangsta Smurf standing to the right of Papa Smurf, but probably Grouchy Smurf. But doesn’t it look like he’s about to whip out a gat and bust a cap in yo ass? We don’t want to run into that guy in a dark alley.
Anyway, the big screen incarnation of everyone’s favorite blue-skinned communists is on the way and with a human cast featuring Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays and Sofia Vergara and a voice cast featuring Katy Perry, Fred Armisen and George Lopez, there is no way this can get annoying or grating right? The plot such as it is, will find the Smurfs suddenly thrust into New York City and they have to find their way back home before the evil Gargamel can get his hands on them. Everything about this seems impossibly tedious and while we watched the show as children we have no burning nostalgia to ever deal with these one-dimensional personality disorders ever again.
