Set to hit theaters in about four months, Neil Burger‘s “Limitless” (formerly known by its much better title, “Dark Fields“) is beginning to roll out its marketing campaign starting with a viral video for a drug called NZT featuring Bradley Cooper.
A little bit of background: “Limitless” centers on a writer (Cooper) whose dependency on a designer “viagra for the brain” drug — which makes one more intelligent — hits a stumbling block when his stocks dwindle and dangerous side-effects affect his sanity. The writer must then venture into the drug’s dark past to feed his habit all while suffering the drug’s side effects of sanity-splitting headaches, spontaneous blackouts and violent outbursts. So with that in mind, the spot for NZT is pretty damn hilarious. It takes the piss out of pharma ads that run incessantly on television and ups the ante on the risky side effects. It’s definitely worth a minute of your time.
The film also stars Abbie Cornish, Robert De Niro and Anna Friel, and will hit theaters on March 18, 2011. We’re looking forward to the trailer for this one. Check out the infomercial after the jump:
