We’re not movie marketing experts or anything but something tells us it’s probably not the best idea to start the rollout for your alien invasion flick on the same weekend another invasion alien flick hits theaters with a similar premise and directed by the same guys who did the visual effects work for your film. Just saying.
Anyway, hot on the heels of the domestic trailer for “Battle: Los Angeles” a completely different international trailer has landed for the upcoming film and while it’s a pure piece of slick eye candy that has us mildly optimistic, that goodwill is also dampened by the presence of Ne-Yo. The Jonathan Liebesman directed film also stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Bridget Moynahan, Michael Pena, Lucas Till (”X-Men: First Class”) and Ramon Rodriguez (”Transformers 2”), and tracks the leader of a Marine platoon trying to make it across a battle-ravaged LA in the midst of a global alien invasion. In short, shit is going to blow up real good.
“Battle: Los Angeles” invades theaters on March 11, 2011. [via Collider]
