While we can’t say we’re too excited for Ron Howard’s forthcoming infidelity comedy “The Dilemma” it does look like the folks over at Chop Shop Music have put together yet another carefully selected mix to make soundtrack enthusiasts pay attention.
Indie rock fans might be surprised to find anthemic faves The Hold Steady, gritty blues stompers The Black Keys and sensitive type Damien Jurado on the soundtrack (though we wonder what happened to “Howlin’ For You” by The Black Keys; it’s also in the film, but not on the disc). For those you who like your music a little bit louder, Wolfmother and Band Of Skulls do their thing, while KISS delivers a bit of throwback with “Detroit Rock City.” But if you want some more classic, The Band do the Holland-Dozier-Holland track “Baby Don’t You Do It” while Ray Charles closes things off with “Sticks and Stones.” All in all, not too bad.
“The Dilemma” soundtrack will be available digitally on January 11th and physically on the 18th. The film opens on January 14th. Full tracklisting below.
