Watch: New ‘Tron: Legacy’ Trailer Heavier On Plot, Lighter On Action

What else can we say about “Tron: Legacy” at this point except that we’re ready to finally see it? Disney has done a helluva job marketing the thing and by the time it hits on December 17th, everyone and their mother is going to be lining up to buy a ticket.

A new trailer has dropped for the film and it’s the least exciting of the spots released so far. Focusing far more heavily on establishing the father/son story and dual Kevin Flynn battle, the money shots are fewer and the more rousing parts of Daft Punk‘s score are kept to a minimum. That said, when the pyrotechnics are on display in the second half of the trailer, we’re still mesmerized, but we are getting the worried that the story seems to be boring as hell. And while the Tron world is getting more familiar by the day, the young/old Jeff Bridges is still pretty badass while Olivia Wilde‘s eyes are quickly becoming a contender for the biggest special effect in the film. But we mostly hope that Garrett Hedlund has more to do in the film than act astonished in every scene.

But we’ll have to wait a little over a month before we can weigh in on all this, so until then check out the newest trailer after the jump:
